About us

We know ecosystems can’t protect themselves, so we step in.

Our work

Stewards of Nature was established to build on the foundation laid at Coega Biomass Centre, developing models that integrate ecosystem stewardship into everyday decision-making in practical, financially viable, and locally rooted ways.

With support from Doers, we’re advancing solutions that unite ecological rehabilitation and economic opportunity—adaptable to diverse landscapes, funding sources, and community needs. Insights gained in one region inform our approach in the next, helping us scale impact effectively.

We’re not starting from scratch—we’re already in the field.

Our first project is up and running in South Africa (Gqeberha), where we’re working towards rehabilitating land, creating jobs, and generating value from previously overlooked biomass.

We’re working with local partners and already seeing early signs of impact.
